Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 lb. ground hamburger
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp. whole basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 - 1 lb. can peeled tomatoes
  • 2 - 60 oz. cans tomato paste
  • 1 - 8-10 oz. pkg. lasagne noodles
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. mozzarella cheese - grated

Instructions

  • Brown meat, spoon out fat.
  • Add next six ingredients.
  • Simmer uncovered for thirty minutes.
  • Cook noodles according to box directions.
  • Beat eggs; add remaining ingredients except the mozzerella cheese.
  • Layer half the noodles in 13 x 9 x 2" pan.
  • Spread on top of the noodles 1/2 of the cottage cheese mixture, add half the mozzarella cheese next and then half the meat sauce. Repeat.
  • Spread grated mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for thirty minutes.
